Joey De Armond-Reid, CSWA

Joey De Armond-Reid is a clinical social work associate (CSWA) who is working toward becoming a licensed social worker. His Sociology degree from California State Northridge and his Master’s in Social Work from Portland State University have prepared Joey for work with people interacting with complicated systems. These include forensic populations, houseless folks seeking services and embedded in primary care supporting youth and families in pediatrics.

Joey identifies as a transgender man who is motivated to work with LGBTQ+ individuals from adolescents to adults providing affirming care. Joey provides a space that is compassionate, non-judgmental, and safe for exploration of identity at the client’s own pace. He strives to partner with client’s in creation of a space that is safe for reflection, honesty, and validation.

Joey’s practice is trauma-informed, client-centered and uses a social justice lens. His theoretical approach includes Family Systems, Attachment Theory, and Narrative Therapy.
